Terabyte Labs was founded in 2022 as a "developer for hire" business based near Cape Town, South Africa. We have since expanded into offering two additional core services; MVP and IoT development, focussing on early stage startups. We realised that there are many founders with great ideas, but extremely high development costs are holding them back from getting early stage investors or funding because no matter how great an idea is it will remain just an idea until it has been validated. We therefore set out to develop a system that allows us to rapidly create Minimum Viable Products (aka an initial version of an application) using a very simple technology stack. Technical dept is a silent killer that that can massively impede the growth of any startup and potentially even result in an early failure if the codebase is not nimble enough to adapt to rapid changes.
The long term goal of Terabyte Labs is to becomme an industry leader in the development of MVP's for internet of things focussed startups. IoT startups are traditionally very costly to get off the ground due to the fact that they combine web development with firmware (software that runs on a hardware device). Our aim is to change this and help our customenrs build cost effective MVP's for IoT stratups using either Arduino or ESP based hardware to keep the initial costs low and allow rapid iteration.
